following the lockdown of a southern california college campus. that lockdown at cal state fullerton was lifted just before midnight. at least one suspect ran on the campus following a police chase yesterday afternoon. that's when the lockdown was ordered. students were told it could last all night but it was lifted after 8 hours. the chase came after a robbery and shooting at a jewelry store. the pursuit covered the counties and ended with a crash near the campus. two suspects are still at large. three others are under arrest. one of them ran into a baseball diamond where the los angeles police chief was at a toy giveaway. that suspect saw dozens of officers there and surrendered. >> amazing video. >>> 4:31 now. a san francisco police sergeant is under investigation over over a video on facebook. in elizabeth wenger is in san francisco with the video that was recorded. >>> this video all over the net. it makes you think why would a san francisco cop ever do this to begin with? we should know he is changing his story now but that video essentially shows the driver starting here at larkin

accident happened at about 3:30 this morning. it was towards the peninsula side as you head into foster city. you're looking live at church. so delays are improving but it's still a backup. we were seeing delays. this two-car crash was reported just as a normal incident at first but again, one person was pronounced dead at the scene. so they have that closure down for quite some time. hopefully things are improving. all lanes are now open. you should use the dumbarton bridge just for the next maybe 15, 20 minutes. things should be good after 6:30. let's jump to the maps. we have a new trouble spot to report westbound 580 at high street. getting word of an accident where a vehicle may have hit a pedestrian in the road. no word yet if it's blocking the main lines of the freeway or if the accident happened on the off-ramp there. we'll get more details on this just a few minutes. we'll send it back to the news desk. >> thank you. >>> was it a playful planing or playful prank? a san francisco sergeant at first claimed responsibility for a high-speed joyride through a tunnel in town. elizabet

well as cost saving and looking at if we can reduce that prop k portion of the connector road funding plan. the next thing we looked at is -- the community said they do support choosing a option that supports a station as well as master planning effort. there's a lot of support for that effort to rebuild the southeast plant. that's something that we have taken into account. we've also heard a lot from the community about making sure we're maintaining access through the area. that's both on a permanent basis as well as a temporary basis during construction. we've started to take a look at that and will continue to look at that in the next phase of design with our funding request today. but essentially, we've looked at all three options, all bridge replacement options would require a temporary short term closure of access through the area for construction staging. what we'll continue to look at and we've looked at a couple options including the building and connector road first, we'll continue to look at what the different options in terms of how those projects are staged and scheduled.

has set a clear economic target for how long interest rates will stay at record lows. the surprise decision means the central bank will continue stimuting the economy by buying bonds. darren gersh explains the dramatic move. >> reporter: ben bernanke and his colleagues will no longer mark a date on the calendar for when they expect to begin raising interest rates. from now on, they'll make that call based on a target for the unemployment rate and inflation. >> it'll act to some extent as an automatic stabilizer. so if the outlook worsens and that leads markets to think that the increase in rates is further out in the future, that will tend to lower longer term rates, and that will tend to be supportive of the economy. so that has an automatic stabilizer-type effect. it offsets adverse shocks. >> reporter: as it turns out, the fed expects the unemployment rate to fall below 6.5% until 2015, exactly when the fed said a few months ago it expected to begin raising interest rates. so this isn't much of a change in policy. bernanke also said the central bank will continue buying bonds, $
